Federation CJA, a major funder of all of the Jewish Day Schools, has acknowledged that the costs of a Jewish Day School education have increased and to that end they have provided the tuition subsidy program called C.A.P.S. We encourage all families with a total family income of more than $75,000 to use the C.A.P.S. calculator to see how this program will help make Jewish Day School education more affordable. Many C.A.P.S. families are also eligible for a one time grant of $1,800 per student for Kindergarten and Secondary 1 (Grade 7) of $1,800 per student. The C.A.P.S. program lets families know what they will pay for their school fees for several years regardless of whether or not a school raises their fees.
Families with a total income of less than $75,000 are asked to please apply for tuition assistance through the Apple Financial Services program. Please contact Betina Shadowitz at Head Office (514-731-3841 x 222) or firstname.lastname@example.org for a confidential consultation.
We understand the deep commitment made by families to provide their children with a Jewish education. We are proud to partner with you in this endeavour, and share your vision of enabling our young people to thrive in the Jewish, wider Quebec, and global community.

Financial Aid for Canadian Students (FACS)
JPPS-Bialik is part of a network of schools affiliated with an arms-length organization called Financial Aid for Canadian Students (FACS) that provides a confidential analysis of a family’s financial ability to contribute towards the school’s tuition fees. A school committee then uses a JPPS-Bialik Board approved evaluation grid as well as the FACS analysis in recommending the family’s tuition fees, while keeping within the school’s Tuition Assistance funds budget constraints.
Families are asked to apply online, directly with the FACS organization (click on: www.applefinancialservices.ca and select the school year 2014-15). The instructions are on the website and can be followed easily. It is possible that you will be asked to submit information that was previously submitted. It is important that you follow the instructions properly and submit the information that is requested.
For those of you who do not have access to a computer, you can request a paper application by calling: (416) 730-9900 which you can either fax or mail back.
There is a small application fee which is to be paid by the applicant. The fee must be paid by credit card. If you do not have a credit card, it is suggested that you purchase a loadable cash card at a pharmacy, grocery store or Bureau en Gros. This will be needed in order to complete the application.
If you have any questions in regards to the application, I encourage you to contact Apple Financial Services at (416) 730-9900. If this process is unclear, please do not hesitate to contact the undersigned at (514) 731-3841, extension 227.
